How to apply for a place at the College
SJP is an oversubscribed Catholic comprehensive Voluntary-Aided. The Governors are responsible for Admissions and they consider applications according to criteria agreed by the College and the Diocese of Shrewsbury. The Governors consider these applications in a priority order made available to Wirral Local Authority.
For 2025/2026 the Planned Admission number has been set at 270

If you wish to make an Appeal for your child to be admitted to St John Plessington, please download the appeal form below and email it to hayleyrennie@hfcmat.com
(Please note that the deadline for returning the Appeal Form is TBA).
The Appeals Process will be outlined by the Chair of the independent Appeals Panel, Mr N Orme. Mr P McLoughlin, Headteacher, on behalf of the Governors, will make a presentation outlining why your child was unable to be given a place at St John Plessington.

Each appellant will be given at least 10 school days' notice of their individual appeal hearing date.
Appeal hearings will commence TBA and expected to last the week.

A New Parents’ Evening is held each July for all new Year 7 pupils and their families. Pupils are admitted to other Year groups only if places are available.
