SJP is an oversubscribed Catholic comprehensive Voluntary-Aided. The Governors are responsible for Admissions and they consider applications according to criteria agreed by the College and the Diocese of Shrewsbury. The Governors consider these applications in a priority order made available to Wirral Local Authority.
For 2025/2026 the Planned Admission number has been set at 270

The Appeals Process will be outlined by the Chair of the independent Appeals Panel, Mr N Orme. Mr P McLoughlin, Head of School, on behalf of the Governors, will make a presentation outlining why your child was unable to be given a place at St John Plessington.
Appeals to be returned to us by the deadline of Tuesday 31 March 2026.
Any additional information is to be submitted by Tuesday 14th April 2026
Each appellant will be given at least 10 school days‘ notice of their individual appeal hearing date.
Appeal hearings will commence Tuesday 5th May 2026 and may last for several days.

A New Parents’ Evening is held each July for all new Year 7 pupils and their families. Pupils are admitted to other Year groups only if places are available.
