Dear Parent/Guardian,
As you know, we have had to take the difficult decision to close the school from 10.15 a.m. onwards today. There was a power outage in the local area last night, which at 8 p.m. we were informed was resolved. We opened the school as usual this morning under suitable conditions.
The annual Careers Fair at St John Plessington was a success, despite the challenging weather conditions on Tuesday 16th January.
On Monday 4th December children from across the Trust will be performing in our HFCMAT Advent Service ‘From Darkness to Light’ at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Liverpool. This promises to be a really special evening with children from across our family of schools coming together to perform and celebrate their faith together. Tickets for the event are available from the link below and are free of charge.
In a joint venture between our Trust Secondary Schools, some of our Year 11 pupils from St Mary's and St John Plessington enjoyed a residential visit to two Cambridge Colleges: Magdalene and Emmanuel.
A selection of our STEM year 12 students competed in the regional UK Space Design Competition at the University of Liverpool over the weekend, designing a fully functional and financially viable base, from scratch on the dark side of the moon and they only went and won it!
On Wednesday 4th October 9 of our Year 8 students joined Headteachers from across the Diocese of Shrewsbury for their first Mini-Dash (Diocesan Association of Secondary Headteachers) of the year.

Dear Families
As the summer holidays draw to a close I hope that you have managed to find some down time and the opportunity to catch up with family and friends. I am sure for some the time went very quickly, but we do look forward to returning to routine and the start of the 2023/24 Autumn term.
It was a morning of joy for those at St John Plessington Catholic College, Bebington, today for GCSE results day.
Year 11 students were delighted to be back at school with their peers to receive their long-awaited GCSE results.
Sixth form students from St John Plessington Catholic College were thrilled to return to college today to collect their long-awaited A-level and BTEC results.
71% of grades were A* - C or equivalent. 95% of grades were A*-E
