Yr 8 & 9 Notification of Review Day - Friday 31st January 2025 from 9.00am to 6.00pm at SJP
I am writing to inform you about your child’s Progress Review Day, which will be held on Friday 31st January 2025 from 9.00am to 6.00pm at SJP. The purpose of the day is to review progress made to date and to discuss with subject teachers how to improve in the coming year.

Apologies for the late email, I wanted to write to give you an update on the current conditions at SJP and a proposed plan for tomorrow Friday 10 January 2025.

I hope that you are keeping safe and warm. Site staff have been on the yard all day today trying to break the sheet of ice in the emergency evacuation areas. While there has been some success with this, temperatures are due to drop again this evening to -3 with a further weather warning issued.

I am sure you will appreciate my priority this morning was to risk assess the school site and let you know a decision as soon as possible.
I write further to explain my decision to close. Unfortunately, the pathways cleared yesterday by our site staff have frozen over and conditions on the yard are treacherous. Our main yard and ball yard are evacuation points should an emergency occur. As such, the current conditions mean it would be difficult and dangerous to gather students in such a situation posing a serious health and safety risk to all.

Happy New Year to our St John Plessington Catholic College Community!
We hope you had a joyful and blessed Christmas break. As we welcome the New Year, we remind you that school will resume for all students on Tuesday, 7th January at 08:30.
This week, our main hall transformed into a vibrant hub of exploration and opportunity as we hosted our Annual Careers Fair. The event brought together 30 diverse exhibitors, all eager to inspire and guide our students towards their next steps.
It was a morning of joy for Year 11 students at St John Plessington Catholic College, Bebington, today (Thursday, 22 August) as they collected their all-important GCSE results.

St John Plessington Catholic College is celebrating as students collected their A-level and BTEC results earlier today (Thursday, 15 August).
Dear Families
As the academic year comes to an end, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my deepest gratitude to each of you for your unwavering support and collaboration throughout the year. It has been a year of growth, learning, and numerous achievements, all of which were made possible through our collective efforts.
As we come to the last week of term, we look forward to embarking on our two experience days. I would like to remind students and parents that exemplary behaviour and conduct is required during these two days, especially pupils who are representing our college when on trips. Attendance over the remaining week of school is compulsory and non-attendance could result in an Education Penalty Notice (EPN).

I hope you are well and enjoying the good weather. Upon reviewing the weather forecast for the rest of the week, it shows a spike and peak of 26 degrees Celsius tomorrow. For this reason, and for tomorrow only, students may wear their PE kit to and from school if they wish.
