I am writing to inform you of the arrangements for Years 7, 8 and 9 Sports Day that takes place at the Oval Athletics Track on Tuesday 9th July. Y10 will follow their usual timetable and must attend in full school uniform, apart from those students going on the Geography field trip.

On this day, all pupils in Years 7, 8 & 9 will be expected to come into school in their SJP PE kits. A cohort of approximately 180 pupils will be taking part in the morning events, with the vast majority of pupils participating in the afternoon. Pupils will then have an early lunch from 11:20 am to 12:05 pm. They will then be registered before walking, in form groups, to the Oval. Once at the Oval, pupils are not permitted to leave until the end of the normal school day.

Once Sports Day is finished, pupils will be dismissed from the Oval at 3.05 to ensure they have time to get to the school buses.

Pupils are advised to wear sun cream and bring plenty of water with them to drink as they will be outside for large parts of the day.

Unfortunately parents and carers are not permitted to spectate at Sports Day. Sports Day is a closed event to SJP pupils due to a lack of facilities for spectators. Photographs from the day will be posted on the school’s website in due course.
