  • October Wirral Road Safety Team Bulletin for Secondary Schools

October Wirral Road Safety Team Bulletin for Secondary Schools

Now the autumn is here, remember to take extra care on your journey to school.

During term time, the majority of road collisions involving young people happen in the afternoon and evenings, especially in the autumn and winter when it gets dark earlier in the day.

Walking or cycling to school is the healthiest option if you can. During lockdown, people started to get out and exercise more and it’s important we continue to do that during the autumn and winter months - even if it takes more of an effort.  Exercise is a great mood-booster - something we all need in these difficult times!  Active travel like walking or cycling improves alertness, lowers stress, and increases concentration.  It also takes away the stress of using busy buses and trains, especially when capacity may be reduced due to social distancing.

    SJP Welcome Back - Update

    Dear Parent/Carer

Firstly, many thanks for your support and cooperation in ensuring that the return to school has been smooth and positive for our young people. We do hope that you and all of our school community are keeping well during this time.  We are delighted with the way that our pupils have returned to school and the level of maturity with which they have dealt with the new school routines.  Our new Year 7 cohort have settled in so well considering they did not have the opportunity to visit SJP prior to joining in September.  They are a credit to the school, themselves and you for the way in which they have conducted themselves over the last week.

Merseyrail Services - Letter to Schools on service and operational information

We have been working with our partners at the local authorities to ensure that we are fully sighted on the return to school journey.  Whilst walking and cycling are being promoted we fully understand especially for secondary pupils that public transport may be the only feasible journey and that this might be causing anxiety. We hope that this letter helps to minimise some of those fears before next week.

    Dear Parents/Carers

It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of SJP. In the words of Pope Francis, “Teaching is a beautiful job; as it allows you to see the growth day by day of the people entrusted to your care”. We are truly blessed with such wonderful pupils.
