Over the last four weeks, the geography department have been engaged in a battle against one of the world’s greatest forces... nature! The team have been involved in a ground force inspired transformation, taking the overgrown poly tunnel from grim to glam in a matter of weeks.
Congratulations to our winning Big Bang Fair competitors who are through to the finals in Birmingham in March.
When did you start playing football? I started playing at the age of 6 for a local team - Shorevilla.
Last week we said our final goodbye to Year 13 at our annual Leavers Dinner.
The SJP PE Department embarked on it’s first ever Sports Tour this week. Malta was the destination. For one week students from across Yr7-9 represented SJP on international soil competing in Football and Netball matches against local Maltese opposition. In 30 degree heat our teams experienced great success winning a number of the matches they played. Additionally to the matches our teams enjoyed two hour professional led training sessions that focused on skill development and tactical knowledge of game. After five busy days of matches and training our students enjoyed a well-deserved recreational day out at the local Water Park. Our students enjoyed the lazy river, the dive pool and various water slides as they finished off their sports tour in style.
Well done to all students involved.
I am delighted to announce the following appointments have been made for our 6th Form Team for the next academic year. We were blown away by the quality of the applications, the way students interviewed (which is a real testament to the oracy programmes we have been implementing) and the numbers of 6th Formers who were prepared to put themselves forward for the roles.
Congratulations to all our pupils who took part in the Wirral Schools Athletics Competition.
A group of 30 Year 9 students were taken to Liverpool John Moores University to participate in interactive sessions using mathematics problem solving skills.
A small group of year 9 students travelled to Liverpool to attend a Radiology and Oncology Conference on Wednesday 12th June.
Year 12 Food Science had a wonderful trip to London on Monday. Pupils visited Buckingham Palace and Borough Market before taking part in a pizza workshop with @breadaheadbakery which was delicious. They then went on to visit the London Eye and the rain did not dampen anyone's spirits - a great day was enjoyed by all!!
St John Plessington Year 8s concluded the season by winning the Wirral Cup final on Tuesday night at Prenton Park, Tranmere Rovers.
