Congratulations to all learners who took their LAMDA Acting examinations in July. For the third year running, all SJP students passed with either a Merit or Distinction grade! LAMDA performance examinations are the Speech and Drama equivalent of Music Grades; candidates choose a level to study and then prepare up to three contrasting scenes.
Last week saw 20 of our pupils begin the final chapter of their DofE Award as they successfully completed their Gold practice expedition. It is wonderful to see the journey these pupils have made from completing Bronze in Year 9, Silver in Year 11 and now Gold in Year 13. It is a testament to their character and resilience as they completed a challenging four-day expedition.
The College is exceptionally pleased with the performance of our students this year who have once again achieved an excellent set of results despite significant changes at GCSE to the new 9-1 grades.
SJP is pleased to congratulate Ailin Anto, Maria Nielsen Scott and Ellen Peters who are off to Imperial College London, University of Oxford and University of Brighton and Sussex to study Medicine this year. The future Medics are celebrating having achieved a suite of A* and A grades at A’Level.

Over the past few days, psychology and sociology students have had the privilege to attend enrichment experiences, one to Chester Zoo and the other to Dana Prison in Shrewsbury. On Wednesday, 11 of us went to Dana Prison, where we were dressed in jumpsuits, locked in cells and given the prison experience, as well as being able to explore the prison with the help of Graham, a prison guard who had worked at Dana for over 20 years before it closed in 2013.
On Wednesday 13th June all of Year 12 attended the Merseyside Higher Education Conference at the University of Liverpool. Universities from across the country were represented, providing valuable information to help pupils select their course choices from the thousands available.
On Monday 18th June, Year 10 students went to Liverpool Exhibition Center to take part in a skills road show where they were able to access a range of apprenticeship opportunities and gain a valuable insight into a wide variety of career options.
