Dear Families

As we come to the end of this half term, I’d like to update you on a number of important points. This half term has seen the newest members of our community settle into life at SJP. As I write, they are coming to the end of a two week retreat where they have been working alongside the Diocesan Youth Mission team, in their form groups, learning about the importance of community and how our faith can help and guide us. After half term, we will come together at St Anne’s church for our Mass of Welcome - more information to follow.

After a busy summer and start of the new term, I hope that your child has settled in well and is forming strong and lasting friendships with other students. It has been a pleasure getting to know so many of our newest students and seeing them settle into our college community quickly. 

Over 100 Year 12 students embarked on the annual Emmaus Walk to climb Moel Famau in North Wales. In an attempt to bond as a new Year 12 community but to also raise money for Wirral Food Banks. 

Dear Parents & Carers

Following the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the death of our sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a period of National Mourning has started and will continue until the end of the State Funeral. This is a period of time for reflection in response to the death of the Sovereign.

It has been wonderful to have our students back in school this week. Year 7 has made a great first impression.

Whilst the vast majority of students have returned back to college looking smart, wearing the correct uniform and following our ready, respectful and safe rules, there have sadly been a number of students who have not.

Year 11 students from St John Plessington Catholic College, Bebington, received a warm welcome from staff today [Thursday 18 August] as they came to collect their GCSE results.
