Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that this email finds you well and that you are staying warm in this cold spell of weather. I just wanted to send an update with some key information.
Due to planned 24-hour strikes by Network Rail staff who are members of the RMT union, Merseyrail will be running a limited train service on 13, 14, 16 and 17 December. Whilst Merseyrail staff are not part of this industrial action, it will involve Network Rail staff who operate the signalling systems and provide maintenance support. Because of this a 45-minute service will run between approximately 07:30 and 18:30. Please ensure that you make appropriate transport arrangements should your child use the train to get to and from school.
A summary of services that will operate is as follows:
Chester and Ellesmere Port lines: No trains will operate between Chester and Rock Ferry or Ellesmere Port and Rock Ferry. Trains will run every 45 minutes between Rock Ferry and Liverpool Central, calling at all stations.
Thank you to parents and students who have really supported the drive with our 'Be Ready' at the gate checks. There has been a marked improvement in uniform and appearance standards and we are thankful for your continued support.
Christmas dinner will be served in the canteen this Thursday 15th December. We are looking forward to having this together as a school community!
Next week we will have celebration assemblies and our traditional Christmas liturgical prayer with students in all year groups. On Wednesday 21st all students must attend in full school uniform but they can wear a Christmas jumper or a Christmas item. School will finish at 12pm on this day but please be mindful there are no school buses running in the afternoon.
Advance notice that school will open for all students on Thursday 5th January 2023 at normal time.
I look forward to writing to you with more information next Wednesday.
Take care
Mr McLoughlin
Interim Head of School
