We are pleased to confirm that we have now booked a date and venue for our Year 11 Prom 2023 to celebrate their journey so far with us at St. John Plessington Catholic College.
Year 11 Prom 2023 will be held on Thursday 22nd June 2023 at Thornton Hall in Thornton Hough with arrival from 7.30pm until midnight.
Following our student / parent questionnaire, over 200 students / parents wanted a venue away from school with a formal dress code and buffet style food along with entertainment for the evening and awards. The cost for a ticket for the event will be £40 and the dress code will be formal.
In order to secure a place at prom, we ask for a £20 deposit to be paid by Friday 24th March 2023 via ParentMail with the remaining balance to be paid by Friday 21st April 2023.

We hope that we will be able to celebrate with all of our Year 11 students as this will be a memorable evening that they will have looked forward to for a long time and an opportunity to make memories that they can keep long into their future.
Following completion of the trial examinations, students will be given a “Passport to Prom” where they will be expected to record their attendance and achievement points as well as their attendance to intervention sessions over the weeks leading up to prom. We will run a competition for some students to earn a free ticket and other awards based on their engagement with their passport. Tickets will only be issued to students on the condition that they continue to meet our attendance, conduct and behaviour expectations and reach a minimum expectation on our “Passport to Prom”. We reserve the right to withdraw a student's place at prom should they fail to meet our expectations and any payments received were a place is withdrawn would be refunded with a potential loss of deposit.
Parents / Carers will be responsible for the arrival and collection of students from Thornton Hall on the evening. Alcohol must not be consumed at the venue or prior to arrival.
We will communicate further details in the near future and we look forward to celebrating with our Year 11 students later in the year.
