After an enjoyable coach journey down to Watford, Media & Film students were welcomed to Leavesdon Studios by an impressive sight – an active film set! Dear Parents and Carers,
You may be aware from media coverage that the NEU union have declared strike action, with the first of these taking place on Wednesday 1st February 2023. The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government over teachers’ pay and conditions and not because of any issues at our school.
On the 25th of January in a collaborative event, St Mary's hosted an Oxford workshop for selected students from St Mary's, St John Plessington and Weatherhead. Anna McMurtrie, who studied Geography at Oxford, covered a range of topics including the number of colleges available, the collegiate system, application deadlines and admission tests.

On Tuesday 20th December, a group of Sixth Form students travelled to the food bank to donate the items collected as part of the Sixth Form Reverse Advent Calendar.

I hope that this email finds you well and that you are staying warm in this cold spell of weather. I just wanted to send an update with some key information.
The recent visit by the BBC to talk about careers to our students in years 7, 8 and 9 was a great success. It was presented in the form of a ‘story-telling’ interview with the BBC host interviewing people who are ‘local’ to the Wirral to talk about their stories and job roles.
On Thursday 1st of December, Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students at SJP took part in a Careers Fair, set up exclusively for them in the main hall of the College.
Students were allocated time during the event to interact with a range of universities, further education colleges, training providers and employers.
